Manufactured to FIH Specifications
The Gimtrac steel field hockey goal is the aluminium goal’s design built in steel: the same 3.66 x 2.14 m goal mouth to the FIH rules, the same side- and back-boards faced with galvanised steel and green turf, the same bent arches holding the net back, and the same two rubber wheels at the back. It is heavier than the aluminium goal and stands firmer.
Specification
Three finishes
The finishes look the same from the touchline; the choice is in how long the goal is to last and where it stands.
Features
Flat-packed: four pieces and a box, bolted together on site
The goal leaves the workshop in four welded pieces: the two side frames (each upright with its side-board, arch and net fixings welded on, the turf-faced plates already bolted in place), the crossbar, and the back-board with its wheels. On site the crossbar slides onto the elbows and bolts on, the back-board bolts between the side-boards, and the net rods slide through the bushes. The longest piece is 3 660 mm, so the goal is easy to transport and to store. The steel goal comes the same way.
In the box
The net
Every Gimtrac field hockey goal is supplied with an imported León de Oro hockey net: white 3 mm cord in high tenacity polypropylene, UV-stabilised and rot resistant. The 40 mm mesh and 3 mm cord meet the FIH Rules of Hockey for a goal net (3 mm cord at least, 45 mm mesh at most). The net is made 0.9 m deep at the top and 1.2 m at the ground, and hangs loosely inside the arches so a ball in the net stays there instead of bouncing back out. Gimtrac is the Southern African agent for León de Oro nets, made by Tecnología Deportiva S.A., Spain.
