Rosemoor Stadium in George came alive on 9 and 10 October 2026 for the Easycare Kwagga Top 10 – and every race was timed on the TimeTronics system Gimtrac supplied and installed for George Municipality.
About 1 500 athletes from 77 primary and high schools across South Africa competed over two days. Primary schools took the track on Friday and high schools on Saturday. Records fell in both sessions, and the timing and equipment ran smoothly from the first race to the last.
Our contract with George Municipality
Gimtrac was appointed by George Municipality to supply, deliver and install a World Athletics-certified timekeeping system at Rosemoor Stadium, and to supply competition athletics equipment. For this project Gimtrac:
- supplied and installed the TimeTronics photo-finish and timekeeping system;
- supplied track equipment for competition;
- supplied field equipment for the jumps and throws;
- trained the municipal team to run the system on competition days.
The Easycare Kwagga Top 10 was the first big meeting on the new system. George Municipality and the athletics community are very happy with how it went, and so are we.
Highlights from the track and field
- Marco Lesch (Hoërskool Outeniqua) broke the record in the boys’ U17 400 m hurdles, winning in 52.30 s.
- Micah Africa won the boys’ U17 100 m in 10.27 s.
- Jaco van Dyk threw 19.77 m to win the boys’ U16 shot put, and Joshua Gerber won the boys’ U17 discus with 62.69 m.
- Lihan Lategan (Hoër Landbouskool Oakdale) won the boys’ U15 javelin with 68.88 m.
- Mia Janse van Noordwyk won three girls’ U14 events: the 90 m hurdles, the 300 m hurdles and the long jump.
- The boys’ U16 1 500 m was so close that two runners crossed in exactly 4:02.85, with third place only two hundredths of a second behind – exactly what a photo-finish system is for.
