Contesting the high ball at either the re-start or during open play has become a very important skill for the modern rugby player. There is no effective way to practice this other than with live contesting players, the problem is ensuring the safety of the passive player and coaches don’t want to risk injuries to players so this is done in an unrealistic manner.

The Rhino MP6 climbing bag offers a solution in that the passive player can see the ball and position themselves in a contesting position, allowing you to coach your player to rise to the high ball.

This now allows players to train and compete for the high ball in a safe and realistic manner with a fully protected contesting player.
